As we negotiate the current Covid environment a priority for us, at Excellere College, is to maintain a calm, peaceful space for our students. I have been encouraged by the evidence of compassion, integrity and honour that is being displayed throughout the school. As we all have personal opinions about what is happening in New Zealand, our over-riding message is to show love, and respect for those we agree with, and those we do not. God’s plan will continue to unfold despite our current circumstance and keeping a focus on His Kingdom and all it represents is vital. I thank our Excellere community for their on-going support and prayers at this time.
Next week a group of our Duke of Edinburgh students will be tramping to Cape Brett, and back. This is the culmination of much fitness work and planning throughout the year. We wish the team, and Mrs Anson and Mr Keyte, peace and enjoyment during this adventure.
With three weeks left until NCEA exams begin we are counting down with specific learning for these students. It is important that they are well prepared, and as relaxed as can be, for this time. Please continue to support, at home, with a quiet place to study and limited distractions and stress.
Although the weather is unpredictable at present we are looking forward to a full five days at school next week. I wish you all a restful weekend.
